The natural beauty of Martha's Vineyard has always inspired me. It is the source for most of my childhood memories. In my paintings I try to capture the places and events that brought me joy growing up. The vistas and the hideaways and the fun I had in the summertime. The trip over and back on the Islander is etched into my mind in so many ways; especially those early mornings on the 7:00 ferry, the fog, the storms, the coffee and doughnuts... My favorite places are all touched by the sea: Edgartown Wharf, the Vose boathouse on the fourth of July, the Reading Room and quahogging at Collins Beach, the marshes at the Bend in the Road to name but a few. Here is part of a growing collection of my memories of the Vineyard. Please contact me directly for prices and availability. I am always happy to create a custom painting of your favorite Vineyard memory for prices similar to those for my portraits.
